1. Fine-grained Mammutti soapstone is used in the fire chamber: the direction of the foliation is placed in a way that allows for the heat to transfer quickly deeper from the surface. A considerable portion of the heat can be captured already in the fire chamber.
2. In the smoke ducts, the directions of the foliation are placed in a way that corresponds to that of the fire chamber. This way, the rest of the heat is captured efficiently and the internal structures of the fireplace are heated throughout.
3. In the stones on the surface, the direction of the foliation is placed parallel to the surface. This way, the heat evens out to cover the whole surface area and the heat flow time becomes longer.
